    The Core Network Infrastructure

    In today’s hyper-connected world, enterprises are scaling both horizontally (scale out) and vertically (scale up) to support traffic from millions of users and devices. The scale-out approach—expanding the number of servers and interconnects—facilitates a highly modular and high-capacity optical infrastructure to manage growing port counts across racks, rows, and rooms. In contrast, scale-up strategies focus on increasing the processing power within existing hardware, providing high bandwidth per port and inter-device data rates.

    Both approaches require robust fiber optic interconnect solutions and sophisticate engineering to reduce data transmission congestion, simplify installation, and maximize the fiber connection capacity.

    One of EZconn’s solutions in scale-out scenario is the High-Density Optical Trunk Cable. These cables are designed to support multiple fiber strands (e.g., 288, 864, 1,728, or even 6,912 fibers) in a compact, space-saving design. High-density trunks are often terminated with MPO connectors, which interface directly with MPO patch cords, MPO-LC fan-out patch cords, or modular cassettes that are accommodated in a set of fiber patch panel. For the purposes of supporting ultra-high-density fiber installations, EZconn offers VSFF connectors and cables (SN, SN-MT, MDC, MMC type) allowing more ports per RU, especially important for 400G/800G deployments.


    In the perspective of scale-up in data center applications, the switch and server interfaces move to higher speeds, the need for high-performance transceivers becomes critical. EZconn offers 800G Active Optical Cable (AOC) and 400G QSFP112 SR4 directly interfacing with structured fiber cabling systems—such as MPO and VSFF connectors—highlighting the importance of a compatible, high-quality data communication infrastructure.
